The Student Senate is comprised of 40 voting
members. Five of these members, the executive officers,
represent the entire student body, and are thus elected by
such. Each class has eight senators, elected by their
respective classes. Finally, there are four at-large senators,
elected by the entire student body. In
April of each year two general elections are held. The first
is to elect executive officers, the second to elect class
officers. The freshman class elects its officers within the
first five weeks of the fall term. Members are elected by a
majority vote of their respective voting body. In the event
that there is no clear winner, or a tie, a run-off is held.
Any seats on the Senate that are vacated by resignation or removal
are filled by a vote of the Senate. Within
these pages you will find a listing of senators, their positions,
and the committee on which he or she serves. |
