In 1997, a group of athletes led by Mark
Palfreeman came to the conviction that the social clubs at Ouachita
Baptist University were lacking in one key area. While there
were several groups that promised brotherhood, good times, involvement,
and spiritual growth, Palfreeman felt that none of the existing
clubs met the needs of himself or his friends. They were looking,
first of all, for a place where the priority would be to Honor
God within the group and without, and secondly where they could
meet and bond with Christian men from outside the athletic department.
And so, in the Fall of 1997, Eta Alpha Omega was born. Its goals
from the beginning were to unite men from all divisions of the
school under the unity of Christ and to make them each stronger
for Him, as iron sharpens iron.
Today,
Eta Alpha Omega has grown to be a social club that represents
Christian Men from all walks of life, bonded together in the
unity of Christ. As we strive to Honor God in all that we do,
we are growing as a club into a body of believers working for
a common goal: to be men chasing after the heart of God.
