In year 2000, Kim Ward, EEE alumnus, had the opportunity to visit the last living EEE charter member who lives in El Dorado, Kim's hometown. Kim's visit found a sweet little lady who was very vibrant and had much to offer about her memories of the Women of EEE
She said that the Women of EEE began with a group of friends who lived in Cone Bottoms. Every Sunday night they would "pop some corn" and share candy that they had been sent from home. They decided that they wanted a name for their group. The woman that was spoken to was the one who actually made up the name that is traditionally known only to EEE members.
She told her personal story of how she was befriended by a girl who became a charter member as well. She said that "God must have had a hand in it," when she spoke about that particular friendship and the chain of events that led to the beginning of the Women of EEE.
In 1925 she had no idea that the Women of EEE would ever be celebrating a 75th anniversary in the year 2000. Finding out where and how we began has made every one of us very proud in the fact that we are now celebrating seventy-nine years of tradition and excellence.
